Spoiler Warning: I Missed the Sopranos Finale
I had previously begged off any serious blogging to catch the Sopranos series finale.
Instead I slept. I was tired and I slept the sleep of the just innocent tired. But then the next morning, I read Drudge, which, spoiled the ending for me in bold red letters . I did not linger long on the headline, almost instantly backpedaling. But I could not help but catch the general gist, also repeated at the New York Times and elsewhere. So now, when I finally get a hold of a copy of the Sopranos finale, it will be like catching a rerun. It will still be good, just not edge-your-seat exciting. It seems that the whole world needs a spoiler warning nowadays, and editors with enough good sense not to put spoilers in the headline. I’ve been reading Robert Graves’ I, Claudius and have purposefully avoided picking up my Gibbons, so that I am not told, in detail, how it ends. And I thereby admit to the sad state of my Classical education. Knowing the general fate of the Roman emperors of that era. however, I am not optimistic, but maybe… I’ll shut up now as I don’t want to ruin it for others.
